Tel Aviv, the city that never sleeps !
An hour ride away from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv is Israel's financial & economic capital, a modern city, with much of an American style, but with an important Middle Eastern scent & atmosphere. Even though it is a modern city, it has nevertheless preserved its historical heritage, the old port of Jaffa for example, has become a very active economic & cultural pole with many bars and restaurants, museums, but also beaches and universities. A very unique culture has outcome, a result of the numerous immigration flows. Considered by the religious traditionalists as a city of sin, Tel Aviv is a “buble” in which youth tries to put aside the daily horrors related to living in a country in permanent conflict with its neighbors.
In only a few years it has become one of the gayest destinations on the Mediterranean shore! With the attractiveness of its beaches, its night-clubs, its DJs, and its handsome guys, gays from all over Europe have found their path to Tel Aviv and take their turn in coming to enjoy the thrills they can find within this safe “bubble” of pleasure & freedom.
In Tel-Aviv, the week-end starts on Thursday evening, complying with Sabbath. The gay community meets at Sheinkin, in Neve Tsedek, on the Rothschild boulevard, in bars, restaurants, night-clubs… The main gay event during the year is of course the gay pride parade, in June, largely supported by the local city-hall authorities, attracting thousands of gays from all over the world.
