Life feels good in Stockholm! Nicknamed "Venice of the North", Stockholm consists of 14 islands and more than fifty bridges that make the city a place of total serenity for of unspoiled nature lovers.
Head of the Nobel Prizes, Stockholm offers, in addition to water and parks, a multitude of museums and cultural monuments. It is also a shopping capital, and specifically on design, with hype and trendy shops in the Sofo district.
Stockholm is also the very essence of what you might call of "gay-friendliness" : its open-mindedned inhabitants is not a legend. No gay area here because it is not needed! The main gay places are spread throughout the city, with a major concentration of bars and clubs on Södermalm island and Gamla Stan, the Old Town. Open to all, everyone is welcome regardless of sexual orientation.
Proof of an exemplary tolerance, Sweden has twice hosted the EuroPride. As for the gay pride, it is held annually in August with approximately 500,000 participants, making it the largest gay event in northern Europe.
