Bangkok has the appearance of a large anthill ultra modern, loud and hyper active. Yet his name Thais (City of Angels, happy city, residence of the Emerald Buddha, ...) inspires serenity! Bangkok is a mixture of old and new, where traditional customs are in perfect harmony with the contemporary style of the metropolis. The city is bustling with activity. Every day, street vendors take the city by storm and mingle with tourists, businessmen and indigenous. Everyone is mixed and the atmosphere is warm.
The nightlife is also buzzing and the gay scene is fun and exciting. Most establishments are clustered in the gay area "Silom" on Soi 2 for lively evenings or Soi 4 for a more relaxed atmosphere. The gay establishments are very varied and you will also find many bars, clubs, saunas, restaurants or hotels. Bangkok Gay Pride usually takes place late October or early November and puts the city in turmoil! Finally, far from the tumult festive hyper active, you will find in Bangkok calm and peaceful places like parks, temples, the Royal Palace area or that of the National Theatre School to rest.

Transportation
Traffic is very difficult to Bangkok, traffic jams are unavoidable casiement. The city is often congested.
For convenience, an elevated railway has been developed and a draft "true" underground metro is underway.
The means of transportation such as taxi-moto, tuk-tuk or scooter are wide spread but sometimes dangerous. The boat is a good means of transport to traverse the pleasant city on the river Chao Phraya.
