Besides being a recognized European port, Antwerp is a recognized city Gay-Friendly! The city benefits from a vast and modern air and railroad network which connects Antwerp with all the European big cities.
If transport are developed well to connect the city with the continent, they are also very well managed in house and allow the Belgians to move quickly in all the city. And it falls well because the Gay establishment Friendly is almost everywhere spread in the city. Exists certainly a former gay district but this one is abandoned little by little because of it's style too much "old school" and too sad. The atmosphere is much more festive and "gay" in bars and clubs gays situated in the city center today. The gay scene is effervescent the weekend till late in the night of Friday and Saturday evening, but also to every festival.
Antwerp organizes Annual Navigaytion Party but also welcomed the biggest European gay sports event: Euro Games in 2007. Antwerp never stop there because it will be the city of reception of the 3rd edition(publishing) of Out Games for summer, 2013, bigger gay sports festival of the world after Gay Games of Cologne.
May to September, temperatures are mild, thanks to the North Sea, very close.
